Response for April 4 on Chapters 1-6

After reading chapters 1-6 in The non-Designer’s Design Book, I realized that there is a lot to writing and the way something is written to make something understandable. I like the fact that the book showed several different examples of views of the same information and explained how a reader will see it. It is very important for a writer to get their point across in the best way most amused way they can to keep the reader interested and not confused or frustrated.
I believe we are learning design in class to improve our writing skills. Every writing either being a paper an outline of a report must have structure and this class this book should introduce or help with what we know already about writing with structure. I feel like it is a must to write with structure because it makes the information clearer and understandable and to me it allows me to want to keep reading. When something is all smashed together and makes me have to think about what I am reading when it is something simple like a restaurant menu or a business card there is a problem from the first look of something you should already know what it is.
One thing that stood out to me in the chapters is the spacing part. I believe every automatically thinks something is different from the rest if it is separate from the rest even if there is nothing that is telling them apart or making something much different than the rest as long as the information is spaced out or somewhere different than the rest of the information it is different in the readers mind. As an example of the list of flowers in The Non-Designer’s Design Book page 15.
In my profession Athletic Trainers make a lot of reports as an example SOAP notes which are reports about athletes who are injured, were injured, or someone who is not the same as they usually are on a day to day base. These SOAP notes must have structure to make it understandable and to make the report valid.  We must follow a guideline in this SOAP note we have to put the correct information in the correct spot for it of it is not considered a SOAP note.  In everyone’s job specific writings have structure to it as well may be different than the rest but if you know the foundation to what design in writing is then you should be able to know why it is important to have structure and to know what will make since to a reader and what to do to make tings flow better.
